♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ This June is the Queens diamond Jubilee marking 60 years of her in reign. Every shop that I go in at the minute is full of patriotic party wear, tea sets, clothes, flags, buntings etc . It’s very clear there is going to be a lot of parties taking place over the bank holiday weekend in June so I thought I would give people a few idea’s of things you can use to decorate the special event (using flowers of course). ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦
Hang out the flag.
Use old vases, milk jugs etc and arrange flowers into them like this one
Hang out your bunting.
If your having a wedding why not have something different. Hire a red telephone box and get your guests to go in and record a message on a phone instead of a guest book!
Or instead of the phone box hire a post box and they can post there comments!
Keep your garden in theme by buying some pots and plants in red, white and blue. or just restore some you already have a paint them.
Celebrate the era with a vintage feel, arrange soft pastel flowers and like this one use your penny jar to keep them in. p.s don’t forget the coins have the queens head on!
Any cups that you have been keeping in the cupboard get them out, drink some good old English tea or arrange cut flowers and foliage in them.
If you have a pair of wellies like this then put them to good use! If your having a party fill them with flowers and leave them by the front door…it makes an exciting welcome.
Dig out your old vintage tea sets and put them to good use
Want something a bit more wow for your centrepiece, why not have bright blue roses clustered together.
Buy something more modern yet patriotic for the home like this milk jug. You can have a small bunch of flowers arranged in it and can be used after too.
Having a special event, why not have something a bit more striking! Like these colourful clustered balls arranged in clear glass cubes… they look so effective.
Get out your mugs… drink out of them, have them for decoration or put flowers in them.
You can use anything to arrange flowers into, vases, jam jars, glasses, mugs, tea pots, milk bottles. Its about being creative!
Having a wedding? red/white and blue then maybe this is for you.. its not to everyone’s taste but its very patriotic! If you having a jubilee party you could have this on your table.
Use all your soft furnishing to celebrate the Queens jubilee!
